In recent years, we have been building a society in New Uzbekistan where the principle of “human dignity” is paramount, social justice is ensured, and the most vulnerable in our society are effectively protected.
It is a great honor and privilege for us that our Conference is being held, for the first time in the last 40 years, outside the UNESCO Headquarters — here in the ancient and ever-young city of Samarkand.
I believe that the Gabala Declaration to be adopted today will further strengthen the noble initiatives and plans we are jointly promoting, and will make a significant contribution to the development of our countries and the prosperity of our fraternal peoples.
The New Uzbekistan is a supporter of mutual solidarity, open dialogue, and close partnership with all countries. We are always ready to contribute to strengthening dialogue among peoples, cultures, and civilizations, and to achieving universal human goals.
